The Opportunity

Speechmatics has a paid internship opening in speech and machine learning. The internship will be supervised by the Founder of Speechmatics, Dr Tony Robinson, and will explore high risk research directions which may benefit the company in the long-term. The area of work will depend on the candidate, example topics are novel methods for search in speech recognition decoding, novel representations to aid correction, the combination of word embeddings and conventional n-gram techniques, sequence-to-sequence models, thought vectors, GANs and other modern deep learning techniques applied to speech and related areas such as dialog. The aim is to build the candidate's knowledge of state-of-the-art speech and machine learning in both the research and commercial environment. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to see how the latest ML research is commercialised, utilising modern software development methodologies in a forward-thinking R&D environment.

The internship will be based in our Cambridge satellite office which is only one mile from the centre of Cambridge. There are close ties with our main offices (2 miles away) which offers internal seminars and discussion groups in both speech and machine learning.

Typically, the internship will last between three and six months in duration.
