Health, Safety and Environmental Manager

Working as a senior member of the manufacturing team reporting into the Facilities Manager.  The role is to monitor, evaluate maintain and improve the company's H S E processes and standards ensuring the business is a safe place to work.

Health & Safety

Ensure the business meets the requirements of H&S legislation and regulations.Lead a cultural safety change programme to alter employee behaviour regarding safety.  Engage with the Management Team and Production Foreman to deliver an effective behavioural safety programme that changes attitudes and priorities.Chair the HSE Committee meetings and ensure actions are completed in a timely manner.Develop, maintain and update Risk Assessments, Safe Systems of Work, COSHH and the H&S Manual.Investigate accidents to ensure that the root causes are found and to put in place corrective action plans accordingly.Arrange Fire Evacuation drills.Work closely with the HR Team to facilitate the Occupational Health (OH) process, ensuring employees are referred in line with agreed trigger points.  Ensure OH assessments are completed, followed up and interventions are put in place to enable the employees to work to the best of their ability.Environmental

Maintain the companies Environmental Policy and manual.Carry out Management review meetings as required.Maintain Legal Register. Maintain records of waste transfers and waste carriers on site.Work within agreed budgets to ensure there are no overspends.Person specification

HNC or Degree level qualification.Minimum of a NEBOSHH Diploma in H S & E management or equivalentHistory in a manufacturing environment, at least 5 years’ experience in similar environment.Ability to travel between Oundle, Peterborough and Hythe, SouthamptonMust be an excellent problem solver.Proficient in Microsoft officeDesired Qualities
