If so, we at Watford Community Housing have an immediate position available for a Policy & Regulation Officer to help us deliver our vision of “building friendlier communities, together”.

About the Role

As a Policy & Regulation Officer within our busy Performance and Regulation team you will:

Work with colleagues at all levels of the organisation, to maintain our corporate policies and procedures and data protection registers;

Identify and address any gaps in our policies or procedures in particular relation to regulatory and legislative matters and then working with service owners to address those gaps appropriately;

Regularly horizon-scan the housing sector, identifying any changes to relevant policy, regulation or legislation as required and summarise these for senior management;

Support the business response on regulatory, GDPR and data protection matters including by assisting with government and regulatory consultations;

Work with the project team in ensuring the organisation is prepared for in-depth regulatory assessment, and lead project co-ordination, if and when this occurs;

Work collaboratively with operational teams in the support and production of policies and procedures, relevant performance indicators and regular corporate and operational reports where required;

Support wider campaigns on equality and diversity across the Group, playing a key part in supporting our clear commitments to our residents and local communities around diversity and inclusion.

About You

You will have the following skills and/or experience:

A good level of education possibly to degree level;

Excellent project management and organisational skills, and clear attention to detail;

Be able to sufficiently and comfortably interpret policy / legal language and translate this for colleagues;

Be able to communicate verbally and in writing with accuracy, clarity and precision;

Experience of working in a professional (ideally policy-based) environment and be able to liaise proactively and independently across teams, departments and organisations in delivering key projects to clear deadlines.

Knowledge and understanding of equality, diversity and inclusion in service delivery and the workplace
