Description:
Editorial Assistant, Engineering (12 months)

£23,801 - £29,148

About the role:

We are seeking an Editorial Assistant to work on a broad range of projects within our Engineering books team, supporting three commissioning editors.

The key responsibility of the position will be to manage projects from signature of contract, to receipt of complete and final manuscripts. This will involve regular contact with authors as they write, working with them to ensure timely completion and delivery of manuscripts in the correct format, copywriting, and working closely with colleagues in our Content Management department. Some administrative work will also be required, and the post will involve assisting commissioning editors with list management and development

About you:

The successful applicant will have strong organisational, time-management, communication and IT skills, excellent attention to detail, and a flexible approach to work. You will be confident, self-motivated and enjoy working independently and as part of a team, both with internal colleagues and with our authors, series editors and other publishing partners.

A degree-level education is essential, a science or engineering degree is preferred, as is prior office experience. Previous science/engineering publishing experience would be an advantage.

About Cambridge University Press:

Help us achieve our mission, and you will have a career that is not only hugely satisfying but brings with it great benefits and a stimulating, supportive and flexible working environment.

Why us?

A great central Cambridge location, our office is only a ten minute walk from the train station and guided busway. Benefits include a staff incentive scheme, flexible working, free life assurance and a contributory pension scheme, 28 days’ annual leave, subsidised restaurant and café, free on-site gym and sports facilities, and season ticket travel loans.

Please apply with a CV and covering letter explaining why you are suitable for this position.
