Description:
The role of the Head of Business Development is a senior Blue Square position and reports into the Managing Director. The HOBD is responsible for identifying new clients and converting new business opportunities from Blue Squares wide range of products and services. The HOBD is required to consistently deliver commercial KPI's through the delivery of a strategic plan. The HOBD is expected to have a full understanding of Field Marketing including knowledge of the competition, key clients and have relationships with key influencers in this sector.

The HOBD will be highly proactive, will have relevant sales experience and will thrive in a competitive and challenging market. This is a new role to Blue Square and effectively operating as a 'start up' division, the successful candidate will build a robust plan and then execute it.

Main Duties and Areas of Responsibility

* Growing the sales pipeline, prospecting, generating and converting leads

* Proactively approach new business and build rapport by calling and meeting clients

* Successfully negotiate and close deals

* Devise sales strategy to exceed sales targets

* Preparing presentations, proposals and contracts

* Keeping internal and CRM systems up to date

* Developing and mapping the market by gaining industry knowledge

* Have proven results in successfully closing new business, ideally selling to blue chip companies

* Be articulate, polished and professional with sophisticated negotiation skills

* Have the ability to effectively prioritise, manage workload and pipeline

* Have the maturity and gravitas to deal with and influence senior decision makers

* Client Management & Growth Strategies

* Develop and grow an assigned portfolio of clients

* Identify market opportunities, both UK and internationally
