An excellent opportunity has arisen for a proven Children`s Home Registered Manager with excellent leadership skills.

This opportunity is working for a fantastic company who truly value their children in care as well as their staff.

The aim’s of the home are to provide a therapeutic setting where complex social, emotional and educational needs are met and children and young people can learn appropriate life skills and behaviour, which will help them to live fulfilling lives beyond their time and experience in care.

Duties and Responsibilities:

To manage all matters of statutory compliance for the home and ensure that all statutory requirements are met

To be responsible for decisions about admissions and termination of placements

To ensure key stages in the stay of children and young people such as admission and discharge are properly managed

Ensure that effective placement plans, risk assessments, risk management and health care plans are in place

To develop and maintain good working relationships with parents, family members and other professionals

To encourage and support children and young people to take responsibility for their own lives

To provide leadership, guidance and management to staff

To ensure that regular and effective supervision and annual appraisals are in place

To be involved in the recruitment and appointment of staff within the locality and the home

To be responsible for the allocation of roles and responsibilities within the home

To work with the Senior Home Manager and Head of Care and other home managers in monitoring staff performance to maintain high levels of performance and low absenteeism

To participate in the on-call system


Within the last 5 years, worked for at least 2 years in a position relevant to the residential care of children and young people

Worked for at least one year in a role requiring the supervision and management of staff working in a care role

Level 5 QCF in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare or equivalent

Full manual driving licence

Salary: £31,000 to £39,000 per annum (depending on experience)
